River City Basketball  2007-2008

River City Basketball League play is based on the child's age. For ages 5-6, 7-8, and 9-10 it is an instructional/recreational league. Children learn the basic skills of basketball with our volunteer NYSCA-trained coaches. This program is designed to teach sportsmanship and to be fun for the child. Participants play two quarters each game. For ages 11-12, 13-14 and 15-18, play is more competitive and all IHSAA rules apply. Each participant is guaranteed one full quarter (7 minutes) of play per game.

The Winter league consists of two weeks of practice, followed by nine weeks of games on Saturdays. Coaches and parents may choose one practice time per week for River City coaches to instruct the youth with skills and drills. All participants will receive a trophy.

Early Registration: December 1, 8 and 15, 8:00 am - 12: pm at Newman and O’Brien Rec Centers

Evening Registration:
Monday - Thursday Only (no Friday registration), December 3 - January 3, 4:00 - 7:00 pm
O’Brien Recreation Center, Room 206

Late Registration: January 4 - January 11 --A late fee of $10 per child will be added

Rules:
1. Registration is on a first-come, first-paid basis.
2. No team registrations for 5-6 and 7-8 year old teams.
3. No new team registrations /sign-ups after January 12.
4. At registration child must be the age of their division by January 12.
5. A copy of the child’s birth certificate is required for registration.
6. No team registrations will be accepted without all completed paperwork and payment in full.
No practice times will be reserved without complete payment and paperwork.
