The City of South Bend has begun the process of reimagining our Riverfront Parks & Trails, which run from Darden Rd. to Logan St., and we invite you to help us shape the future of our parks. Working with consultant SmithGroupJJR, the City’s goal is to develop a vision that enhances our riverfront, taking full advantage of its environmental, recreational, and economic potential. The resulting plan will serve as a guide for making investment, use, and design decisions within the park system. Please visit this page often for updates.
The second community forum will be held on November 2nd at 5:30 p.m. in the Century Center. The second community forum will summarize the feedback and target opportunities identified by the community to date. A brief presentation followed by an open house format will allow input on site-specific concepts for the focus areas like Seitz Park, Howard Park, and the trail areas around the dam. This discussion will be the basis for a new riverfront parks vision and development of broad design ideas for the entire study area. Parking will be available free of charge in the Century Center parking lot.
