About Us

The City of South Bend Park Maintenance Facility is located at 1020 High Street. We moved into this existing industrial building site in 2005 after a major remodeling and expansion project. The design work was performed by Greg Kil of Kil Architecture and Planning. It was thoughtfully planned with our multi-purpose maintenance needs in mind. It currently holds the following specialty shops:

Paint Shop
Stockroom
Office/Staff Area
Vehicle Wash Bay

The City of South Bend Park Maintenance Department is responsible for all grounds maintenance, playground equipment installation and upkeep, inumerable repairs and daily preparation of 75 parks in South Bend. This includes maintenance of over 7,000 acres of greenspace, picnic areas, softball fields, baseball fields, soccer fields, play structures, splash pads, swings and other equipment located within the Park system.

In the fall and winter months, the Park Maintenance Department assists the Board of Public Works Street Division with leaf pickup and snow removal.
