Howard Park Ice Rink Update
Dear friends of the Howard Park Ice Rink,
On May 6th, 2016, we said farewell to the old Howard Park Ice Rink and began to prepare for the new. The rink was built in 1958 and after 58 years of faithful service, it was decided that a new rink would allow for more opportunities. Although the Howard Park Ice Rink will not be open this winter, we are anticipating exciting new changes for the structure.
The new rink is currently being re-imagined by the City of South Bend and SmithGroup JJR as a part of the Riverfront Parks & Trails process. We would like to invite you to the next community meeting where you can share your ideas and suggestions for this project, as well as several others. At this next meeting, we will summarize the feedback and opportunities identified by the community to date as well as provide the chance for the public to give input on the preliminary concepts.
The second community forum for Riverfront Parks & Trails will occur on Wednesday, November 2, 2016 at 5:30 p.m. in the Recital Hall of the Century Center.
We would like to thank you for your attendance at the Howard Park Ice Rink. We are very excited for you to join us as we look to the future together!
