South Bend Parks and Recreation has many tennis courts available across South Bend. Please check your local park's site for court information.

First day of open registration will be April 21 from 9-2pm at the Leeper tennis facillity.
The Programs
Tennis programs for children
(age 3 & up)
In addition to the programs at Leeper Park, the South Bend Parks & Recreation Department offers tennis programs at other parks and schools throughout the city. Please consult our website for updated information.
PeeWee Tennis
Ages 3 & 4 (45 min. lessons)
Taught by enthusiastic and energetic instructors, these lessons are intended to get kids started in the game of tennis. The USTA Quick Start Program will be used. Youth sized
racquets, nets and balls are used.
Fee: $35 - 6 openings for on line registration.
Little Shots
Ages 5 to 7 (45 min. lessons)
The USTA Quick Start program will be used. Little Shots develops a beginning knowledge of the game. Kids develop hand eye coordination and agility in a fun, energetic atmosphere using drills and games. Junior racquets, nets and balls will be used.
Fee: $35 - 6 openings for on line registration.
Beginners/Advanced Beginners
Ages 8 to 15 (1 hour lessons)
Through the USTA Quick Start Program, beginners are taught the basics of tennis, from ground strokes and volleys to scoring and serves. Continuing players review skills and play out more points. Racquets are available.
Fee: $35 - 6 openings for on line registration.
Intermediate
(1 hour lessons)
These lessons are for players who have passed beginner and Adv. Beginner levels and are able to sustain a short rally with another player. An intermediate player should be fairly
comfortable with grips and strokes, and should have a fair amount of success serving. Continuation of Quick Start.
Fee: $35 - 6 openings for on line registration.

Junior Excellence
Ages 8 to 18
Instruction for players 8-18 who are beyond the intermediate level. Players will be grouped according to level and age. Emphasis will be on stroke production, tactics and playing. Take your game to the next level.
Fee: Six lessons for $60

Jr. Elite Tennis
Ages 8 -18
This program is aimed at kids, ages 8-18, who want to compete at the next level. Emphasis is on stroke production, tactics, conditioning and mental toughness. This program is aimed at the area’s finest tennis talent. You must apply and be accepted into the program before registering. (Financial Assistance is available-ask about this at Leeper desk)

Fee: $75 - on line registration.
Session 1: June 12 - 28, T/Th, 5:30 - 7:30pm
Session 2: July 3 - 26, T/Th, 5:30-7:30pm
Session 3: July 31-Aug 9 T/Th, 5:30-7:30pm

Junior Mini Camp
Ages 6 to 16
Players will be grouped by age and level, so kids at all skill levels are encouraged to sign up. Good attitudes are as important as good skills at this camp. Awards are given for good sportsmanship as well as good play. Camp format includes instruction, drills, and match play daily with break.
Fee: $105

Open to all players that play regularly in St. Joseph County. Register at Leeper Park Tennis Center.
Pie Seifert Memorial Open

Junior tournament sponsored by the South Bend Community Tennis Association, Inc.
Jr. Metro

Tournament is open to juniors playing regularly in St. Joseph County and features a feed-in consolation draw, modest entry fee, singles, doubles, age divisions from 10 and under to 18 and under.
Jr. Novice

Juniors (B-G 18-10) Singles and doubles. Sponsored by the South Bend Community Tennis Association, Inc.
Sweetspot Vintage Classic
August 25
Dust off your wooden racquet and show your stuff. Picnic and league awards presented at this event.
Adult Metro

Aug. 14-19 Doubles
Competition for all levels of play in singles, doubles, and mixed doubles.
