River City Basketball
River City Basketball League has been an immensely successful Parks & Recreation program. Play is based on the child’s age. Age 8 and younger is an instructional and recreational league. Children learn the basic skills of basketball with our volunteer NYSCA-trained coaches. This program is designed to teach sportsmanship and to be fun for the child. Participants play two quarters each game. For ages 9-18, play is more competitive and all IHSAA rules apply. Each participant is guaranteed one full quarter (7 minutes) of play per game. The Winter league consists of two weeks of practice, followed by eight weeks of games on Saturdays. Coaches and parents may choose one practice time per week. All participants will receive a trophy and there will be a tournament for this session.
