ZooCamp
Potawatomi ZooCampers learn about animals and habitats through a variety of crafts, games, and activities. ZooCamps are 4-day programs (Monday-Thursday) that utilize both our indoor classroom and zoo grounds for learning and fun.
Nyati ZooCamp for 5-6 year olds is a half-day camp in which ZooCampers will discover the different animal families. Topics include (1) Critter Classification: Herps, Inverts & Fish, (2) Critter Classification: the Furred & the Feathered.
7-9 years olds can participate in Nyoka ZooCamp from 9am-3pm each day to explore different habitats and find out what animals live there and how they survive. Topics include (1) Fantastic Forests, (2) Wet n’ Wild, (3) Grassland Journeys & Desert Discoveries.
10-12 year-old Nyuni ZooCampers can take a closer look at animal adaptations and see how they measure up in (1) Challenge: Adapt!, discover what it takes to run a zoo in (2) If I Ran the Zoo, and learn about the plight of endangered species and what we can do to help in (3) Going, Going, Gone.
Zoo Career Camp is an opportunity for 13-17 year olds to meet zoo staff, tour behind-the-scenes areas, and learn about zoo careers. This is a 2-day camp that runs from 8:30am-1:30pm each day.
