The South Bend Parks and Recreation Department has six splash pads across the city in addition to the Water Playground at Kennedy and the pool at Potawatomi Park. Our splash pads are free and open to the public seven days a week from 10:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. Will close for the Season when the weather is consistently cool.
South East Neighborhood Park
South East Neighborhood Park has the largest splash pad in the system. It is located between Fellows and High Street on the South Side of South Bend. It is also the largest splash pad in the city and stands near the South East Neighborhood Park's Pavilion and playground.
In Coquillard Park, next to the half court basketball and tennis courts, is this small splash pad. There is a pavilion with some picnic tables nearby.
Martin Luther King, Jr. Community Recreation Center
The splash pad at Martin Luther King, Jr. is one of the newest. It is located outside the Center and is adjacent to the playground area that was updated at the same time it was installed.
Charles Black, Sr. Community Recreation Center
In the spacious LaSalle Park there is splash pad near the playground area and not too distant from the pavilions that can be rented for parties and special occassions.
Right beside the Skate Park is the splash pad in O'Brien Park. It has a small covered area with a picnic table for the parents to sit and enjoy the weather while the children play in the jets of water.
Among the picnic tables and beside the Universally Accessible Playground, the newest splash pad in the system is placed between the shaded trees of Potawatomi Park and within easy walking distance from Kids' Kingdom.
